Upcycling: cardboard furniture creations

Learn to create pieces that are:

-unique, personal
-tailor-made
-solid and light
-durable and washable

out of recycled cardboard !

These "easy peasy" workshops are 5 weekly sessions of 3 hours, each Tuesday evening, where participants learn a simplified version of the «intertwined crosspiece technique»* to make little and simple furniture or decoration accessories with a depth maximum of 20 cm. At the end of the workshops, each participant takes away his own creation.

* The «intertwined crosspiece»: The furniture is made with double corrugated cardboard. A frame is created with intertwined cardboard plates which are cut out according to the original design. This is the support frame of the piece, just like it would be the case for a ship. Then, the frame is covered with cardboard that will be «rolled» on its forms to a perfect fit. This technique allows great freedom in the choice of shapes and materials.

Your upcycling tutor: Linda Ecalle

No worry if you are not sure to be able to attend to all sessions. After or in parallel of these "easy peasy" workshops others will be organized in Brixton, so you will be able to finalize your creation during other sessions. Just let me know if it is your case, specifying your dates of unavailability.

Please send a participation request here: http://cardboardcreationworkshops.eventbrite.co.uk
or by e-mail as soon as possible (places are limited to 10 participants) and we will confirm your participation by e-mail. The price indicated is for one session of 3 hours.
