Artist book for artist you.

It measures approximately 4.5 x 4.5 inches (11 x 11 cm)

I designed this book thinking of my very artistic 10-year old nephew. He spends most of his time drawing and he always carries a little sketch book with him. He also likes dark imaginary (as they do), a bit mysterious and a bit quirky.

Designed using DMIM trademark concertina format, the book is made of layers of beautiful paper such as: red thick 200 gms Fabriano for the cover, pink and black sugar paper and snow white 150gms Canford paper in the inner pages. It can be read as a book or it can be unfolded and the long strips displayed.

On the book cover you can read "I dare you" and when you open the book this is followed by other challenging sentences and statements that sound like clues to solve a mystery. The black ink illustrations are intriguing and look like some sort of post-industrial-forlorn-city. All this together works as a metaphor of the artistic journey is: a journey of courage, experimentation and assertiveness.

The book invites artists to make their own creative use of it: adding drawings or text, displaying it or building something new.

At the moment there is only one book with text in Spanish (shown in pictures). Your book will be made to order with text in English or Spanish. Books may vary slightly from one to other. They will be part of a limited edition of 10. Your book will have my signature, a date and the issue number.
