I’m one of the founders of the Brixton Pound so am excited by the showcase Makerhood has of local trade and production. You might spot a bit of a theme in my choices…
I always have a bottle of Brixton Pound sauce in the fridge. The tagline say’s it all really ‘a sauce that sticks to your chips, money that sticks to Brixton’. Ian and Anne make this sauce from ingredients bought around Brixton and it’s much tastier than HP sauce because of it. The bottle also has lots of cheeky Brixton features.
I ordered a chocolate fudge cake recently for a (Brixton Pound related) leaving party. This was delicious, extremely chocolatey and it looked beautiful as Carly wrote the person’s name on the top.
I’m intrigued by the delicious sounding flavours of Hairy Jayne’s shampoo. I like the sound of Peppermint, Basil & Bay, but there are all sorts of exciting things to choose from. Oh, also I know that Hairy Jayne is one of the latest to sign up to Brixton Pound ‘Pay by Text’ (which allows you to use paying your phone).
I like anything with a bobble on it, so coerced a friend to buy me one of these tea cosies for my birthday. There is no obvious link to the Brixton Pound with this, except that the one I have is in the Brixton Pound blue colour.
Finally the felt owl card is completely adorable (and I can’t think of a better gift than this card with a stack of Brixton Pounds inside)?
